A $200-$400 DAC and a $800-$1200 amp should set you up nicely and the amp will last for a long time if and when you outgrow the DAC. You can get much better "measured well" choices this way. The choices within integrated will be much more limited compromising on the pre-amp or the power-amp or both.
The C700 is open, dynamic, with great pace and with the ability to listen into the music making of the musicians. Phrasing of solo lines are very good. So good that I am listening to Roy Hargrove "Earfood" and it's got me glued to my seat. I would say I prefer the NAD C700 over the M10.
The C 328 Hybrid Digital amplifier ($549) goes its older, smaller sibling a couple steps better in features, while reverting to NAD's traditional look: an unfancy box finished in a dark shade of matte gray with subtle white lettering and logo. Like the D 3020, the C 328 includes a DAC and Bluetooth connectivity, and adds to them a headphone amp
Verdict. The Naim NAC-N 272 could have easily turned out to be too much of a compromise; a poor relation to the companyâs long established line of dedicated separates. It isnât though. It sounds great, itâs full of life and has the ability to make music, no matter how complex, make sense.
The story is this: the C 298 is NAD's first stereo power amplifier to use Class D Eigentakt technology from Purifi, the Danish manufacturer founded by industry veterans Bruno Putzeys, Lars Risbo and Peter Lyngdorf. NAD previously featured Eigentakt modules in its M33 streaming DAC/integrated amp [ HFN Aug '20] and then the M28 five-channel home
Power and flexibility. At 150 watts per channel, NAD's C 388 integrated amplifier fills your room with detailed, virtually distortion-free sound and brings out the best in all your music. Connect digital or analog music sources and stream music via Bluetooth from your computer or a compatible mobile device.
The NAD C338 is an integrated amplifier that joins NADâs âstandardâ range of components. Outwardly itâs business as usual â it looks similar to how NAD amps have always looked â but as we have seen in recent years, NAD has taken the functionality of their amps and shaken it up dramatically. First up, we saw the MDC modules arrive
Verdict NAD C368. Powerful, well-equipped 1000-Euro-Amp with analog-digital hybrid technology, which can be upgraded modularly in a future-proof way and sounds very good. We've tested it with the sensational, very easy to use BluOS streaming module, which costs only 500 Euro extra. A great recommendation!
